2.0 Scope of Position

 

The Interactive Producer is responsible for the co-ordination, management, implementation and production of digitally created output for interactive media, on time and within budget, managing projects from commencement through to post-campaign review.  The Interactive Producer assesses and defines the scope of interactive projects and develops and manages all production schedules, human resource allocation and budgets in relation to such projects.

 

3.0 Functional Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To work with Senior Interactive Producer, Creative Director, Digital Strategist and Account Service personnel to define project requirements.
  • To develop production schedules including responsibilities and time plans and monitoring these to ensure timely delivery of material.
  • To ensure that scoping, testing and quality assurance in relation to projects is carried out.
  • To identify and assess scope changes and their impact on production schedules and budgets and notify relevant Account Service personnel regarding same.
  • To undertake the day to day management of interactive projects and traffic interactive work within the Agency in conjunction with the Traffic department.
  • To assign interactive design and development personnel to projects (working with Senior Interactive Producer, Creative Producers and Creative Director as needs be).
  • To prepare quotes and estimates and quote all components involved in any interactive production (both internal and external) and ensure the best possible result within time and budget constraints. Such estimates and quotes may be subject to review by the Senior Interactive Producer.
  • To assess, engage and monitor external suppliers as required by the Senior Interactive Producer (including freelance developers/ designers as needed from time to time) to ensure timely and cost efficient delivery of quality products/services.
  • To prepare purchase orders for all forms of interactive production undertaken by an outside supplier.
  • To ensure actual production follows quote and approve all external invoices against quote and accounting of final costs against quote.
  • To maintain in conjunction with the Senior Interactive Producer, register of websites hosted by client and ensure that appropriate renewals are in place for charging clients.
  • To attend work-in-progress meetings and meet with relevant Agency personnel, including Creative Producers, Creative Director, and Account Service regarding progress of interactive projects.
  • To ensure that completed creative is sent out in accordance with correct format, size and specifications required.
  • To consider and check legal requirements for interactive projects with relevant account service personnel.
  • To manage and supervise interactive development personnel in regards to assigned projects and liaise with other interactive producers regarding allocation of resources and engagement of freelance personnel (such costs to be approved by the Managing Director).
  • To liaise with the Electronic Producer with regards to securing of talent for inclusion in interactive projects and ensure estimation of talent costs including rollovers is covered in quotes.
  • To stay current with regard to interactive design trends, tools and practices.
  • To ensure any established standards for client work are met and followed.
  • To complete timesheets on a daily basis and submit to the finance department for processing every day, or otherwise at the direction of the Partners.
  • To activate and disarm the alarm system when entering or leaving the Agency where no other personnel are present.
  • To take any immediate corrective action necessary to ensure a quality service which meets client requirements and expectations.
  • To undertake any other duties as directed by Agency Management from time to time.
  • To report system inefficiencies and potential improvements for the Efficiency System to the Quality Co-ordinator.
  • To determine and implement corrective measures to improve quality procedures.

4.0 Knowledge and/or Experience

 

  • Relevant online/IT project management experience in an interactive business.
  • Familiarity with the popular core web technologies is highly desirable.
  • This job function also requires familiarity with rich media production and assumes a competent understanding of user interface design and web navigation, animation techniques, media compression and streaming technologies for video and audio (including implications for bandwidth use), and the implementation of online metrics capture and reporting systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to think outside of the box.
  • Able to handle multiple projects, reliably meet deadlines and produce fully functional interactive projects.
  • Ability to understand functional designs for software and web applications is essential.
  • Personal computer literacy of a high order is assumed.
  • Excellent written, numerical and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance System.

5.0 Authority

 

  • To raise and authorize purchase orders for interactive projects.
  • To implement corrective measures to improve quality procedures.
